Clutter and chaos reigned supreme in the backyard. Two kids, four bikes, one stroller, three Tonka trucks. Soccer balls and baseball mitts. Brooms, rakes, shovels, potting soil and pots. Patio furniture and a neglected turkey smoker. An exhaustive search of home improvement stores and the web yielded no low cost, compact, weatherproof solutions for storing and hiding all of this stuff scattered around the backyard. The heavy plastic storage boxes and sheds were the wrong dimensions and too expensive while their doors were a sure trap for pinching small hands trying to access toys. A permanent storage shed wasn’t an option due to limited space and budget. We also preferred to avoid assembling products that required multiple tools and over thirty minutes of valuable weekend time.

Turned out that we weren’t the only ones frustrated by the lack of practical and inexpensive outdoor storage products. After much research and many prototypes, YardStash was introduced to reinvent the outdoor storage product category. “The yardstash has completely transformed my pool area! It is so large that it can store all of my floats, seat cushions, pool toys, inflatables (while they’re still inflated!), everything! I had been looking for something that I could put all of our pool gear into for years and this is the perfect thing! All of the large bins and other pool storage options that we looked at (and bought) require you to deflate all of your floats once they are dry and fold them up when you want to put them away. Who wants to pump them up or clean them off each time you want to use them? They were always covered with dirt and grime and exposed to the weather, which also shortened their lifespan. The color of the yardstash is wonderful; it blends in perfectly with the foliage around our pool deck. The material that it is made out of is extremely high quality — much more than I was expecting! I am very impressed with this storage unit. We needed a smart outdoor storage solution for our bikes (one hybrid with a basket, one single-speed bike). There was room to spare, and the zippers and flaps keep everything very dry, even around sprinklers and occasional wind-driven rain. The package came very professionally packed, and the instructions were great – although I would recommend having two people set it up, since it take a bit of maneuviring to fit the poles into place (tent-like, but a bit trickier). We’re so happy with this unit that we may order a second for “normal” outdoor storage – it’s more attractive than a shed, and the protection would probably suffice for other sports equipment we need to store.

“I did a lot of research on storage that I could put my bike in during the winter. This one by far had the best price. . . . It is very durable. The fabric is very thick and high quality. I live in a state where we get all sorts of different weather. It’s gone through high winds, lots of snow, rain, heat.. everything and it’s held up with no leaking inside. I can fit two adult bikes and two child bikes. I put a bike trailer on top of those bikes too so you can stack up. I thought it would be a little bigger inside but it still big enough. If you decide later on to get permanent storage then you could always use this for camping or outdoor activities so store toys or coolers in.”
